Indirect air heating
Beneš, Josef ; Adam, Pavel (referee) ; Počinková, Marcela (advisor)
The master Thesis deals with indirect air heating in air handling units. In the theoretical part of the thesis the categories of heat exchangers are defined according to their positioning in ventilation system, used material and type of heat transfer fluid. To the issue of calculating heat exchanges through heat exchangers and description of different kinds of regulation of primary heat transfer fluid is dedicated a separate chapter. The experimental part of the thesis deals with determining performance of current air heat exchanger at set thermal gradient with various heat transfer fluids. In the calculating part of the Thesis, based on measured values, are suggested two possible solutions for use of technological waste heat. Final evaluation of particular solutions was based on the criterion of efficiency usage and implementation investment costs.
Is the only purpous of czech litestyle magazines to present advertisements?
Samšuková, Jana ; Osvaldová, Barbora (advisor) ; Lábová, Alena (referee)
Bachelor's thesis: Is the only purpose of Czech lifestyle magazines to present advertisements? An evaluation of the content of two Czech lifestyle magazines - JOY and Harper's Bazaar. This thesis is based on a hypothesis that Czech lifestyle magazines are oversaturated with advertisements and that their creators devote more space to the advertisers than to actual own lifestyle/journalistic content. This thesis compares the amount of space devoted to advertisements and original lifestyle content in particular, within a three- month period in the year of 2012. It also deals with a possible coherence of advertisers and lifestyle content and thematic agenda of analysed magazines, to a lesser extent. There will be comparisons of both JOY and Harper's Bazaar provided for each aspect evaluated by quantitative analysis, specifically through emergent coding. In the first part of the thesis, the author discusses the presentation of analysed magazines, their appearance, history, and their place among the Czech media market. The topic of media commercialization is also discussed. The coding book is attached to this thesis as well as a CD with the full coding book and definitions of variables.
The Textbook of History for Grammar school students - the qantitative analysis
Gliganičová, Jana ; Opatrný, Aleš (advisor) ; Kuźniar, Mariusz (referee)
The bachelor thesis contains the analysis of four volumes of the textbook of world and Czech history for grammar school and high school students, written in Czech language: 'Dějepis pro gymnázia a střední školy', Praha 2001 - 2002, author of it's conception is Petr Čornej. The bachelor thesis evaluates the frequency of content related to Christianity to all of the content of the texbook. This frequency in four volumes is 5,25%, 35,80%, 3,83% and 2,21% respectively. The bachelor thesis also identifies all the negative or positive statements on Christianity. The result of the thesis is that the frequency of content related to Christianity is adequate, if we take into consideration that the textbook mainly deals with political history. The negative and positive statements are not an intention of the authors, but a result of mistakes, clumsiness and unintentional acceptation of historical paterns we could find in school texbooks in era of the former state regime.

Laboratory diagnostics of micrometastases in breast cancer patients
Mikulová, Veronika ; Zima, Tomáš (advisor) ; Svoboda, Marek (referee) ; Průša, Richard (referee)
Introduction: The presence of circulating tumor cells (CTC) in the peripheral blood has been associated with worse prognosis and early relapse in breast cancer patients. CTC determination in the peripheral blood has been considered as a liquid biopsy. The aim of this project was to analyze the presence of CTC followed by their molecular characterization with the potential use not only as a new biomarker for real-time monitoring of therapy efficacy but also as a suitable tool for patient's stratification and individualization of treatment for breast cancer. Methods: A total of 54 patients with diagnosed early breast cancer were enrolled into a prospective study. Ten millilitres of peripheral blood were sequentially collected to test for the presence and characterization of CTC during the follow-up of patients. CTC isolation and detection was performed by AdnaTest BreastCancer™ (AdnaGen AG, Germany), which is based on the detection of EpCAM, HER2 and MUC1 specific transcripts in enriched CTC- lysates. cDNA from isolated CTC has been further used for newly optimized qPCR assays for breast tumor and therapy resistance associated genes: TOP1, TOP2A, CSTD, ST6GAL, KRT19 and reference gene actin. qPCR results have been analyzed by Genex software (MultiD Analysis). Results: 195 blood samples have been...
